The mission of the Hillside Public Schools Pre-K program is to provide high-quality, early childhood education where learning is achieved through a research-driven, play-based approach that encourages exploration and grows imaginations. Members of our community are empowered through an inclusive setting, where cultural equity and diversity are celebrated so that all Hillside Public School scholars will become well-rounded, lifelong learners.
The Pre-K Program recognizes parents and families as valuable resources in each child’s education. Parents are encouraged to be active in the educational process. They are invited to be involved in classroom activities and to conference with staff periodically and as needed. Communication is established by utilizing classroom notebooks, newsletters, phone contacts, and personal conversations.
There are many opportunities for parents to be involved in the program. Parents are encouraged to join the Early Childhood Advisory Council and attend the parent workshops throughout the year.
